Two of Beaminster’s most wonderful and interesting gardens are open today.
At Farr’s, next to the Museum, Mr and Mrs John Makepeace will open both house and garden so that John’s furniture and their art collection may be seen and enjoyed. The garden is in two distinct styles, ‘his’ with architectural grasses and an impressive bridge and ‘hers’ full of charming cottage garden plants. The entrance fee including both house and garden is £5 and proceeds will benefit the festival.
At the Manor House, Mrs Christine Wood is also opening her garden, featuring lake and waterfalls and a stunning walled garden. The entrance fee is £5 with proceeds going to NGS, and afternoon teas will be served.
For those attending the Shakespeare at the Mill House, Netherbury, visitors are invited by Mr and Mrs Michael Ryan to take picnics and enjoy the gardens before the performance.
